National Pride

National Pride is an emotional attachment to the nation of which one is born in. Patriotism is also one word that can describe these feelings one might have. National Pride is a huge deal to me, people who do not hold pride for their country are the kind of people you just cannot trust as a friend. The United States of America is the best country on this planet, but I have also never been anywhere other than Canada so I don't know if that'll tell you something. It makes me so sick when people do not love their country. For example Colin Kaepernick not standing for the national anthem before the sea hawks games, that makes me mad. Even though he claims he is making a stand for his race, I think he is making a stand against his country, and Americans are known for being very patriotic. With President Elect Donald Trump many people are outraged, the claims of change he wants to make are leaving people less patriotic, but he was the poplar vote by a land slide so these claims are nonsense to me. Patriotism is a feeling we all should have and share, without letting ethnocentrism get in the way, it could possibly help every one unite and maybe get a little more peace in this world.

Fairytale

Aladdin was my favorite fairy tale growing up. Even though it was not your traditional fairytale, growing up the Aladdin books and movies had me mesmerized. Aladdin traditionally is a Middle Eastern fairytale that Walt Disney transformed into the modern twist we all know today. I was captivated by the character Jasmine, every year at Halloween I would ask my mom to let me be Jasmine and every year she would say no because the costume showed too much belly. The energy and strength that Aladdin showed really makes children see that even with the worst odds you can come out of anything. You have to make the best of your life because only you can control it. And what about that Genie, not only is he the funniest character but he really helps build up everyone when they are down on themselves. Fairytales are suppose to show you that even with terrible odds you could come out alright in the end. Aladdin still is one of my all time favorite movies to this day, and it still has one of the greatest movie sound tracks ever.

How I feel about the semester being over

The semester is coming to an end, and I am very excited to see where I stand. With all the work and dedication you put into school work, extra curricular, and a social life you don't want this time to be over. All the work I put into getting along with my roommate, finding motivation to keep my room clean. School work was not what I expected so Im hoping to see my grades are better than expected. Finding the inspiration to change my motivation was a huge deal to me, while not declaring this semester my hopes are high to achieve new goals in the future. The first half of freshman year is turning out to be better than expected. Classes are better than I thought they would be, and I'm enjoying the learning, plus I have made friendships I hope will continue on for the rest of my life. This semester was a success.

"Bombing add fuel to the explosive racial debate"
After many attacks aimed against the US and countries around the world, have cause racial profiling to rise. Many people associate terrorism coming from middle eastern groups, but that is not necessarily true. The assumption of racial profiling has been a continuous controversy for generations in the past. Just because more radical groups are in one area don't mean hate and racism should be pointed at a certain group. In my opinion racial profiling is not improving any form of protection to citizens, it is taking away rights from those who have different backgrounds. It is also causing more hate crimes by those who could be called "radical" patriots, they feel the need to do things for their country in an excuse of protection. The world is a messed up place and the only way it is going to change is if people realize we are all  different, and we all have reasons for our being here on earth.

current event

Heat is rising in the Middle East, ISIS is being their attacks to claim territory in Iraq. Mosul is the latest that the terrorist group has begun fighting for. With suicide bombings and craze attacks on the city, death counts are high but the amount fleeing is even higher. Iraqi Security Forces and Kurdish troops are working on ending the ISIS attacks, hardly making it in time to stop suicide bombings, this is a battle ISIS is dedicating lives to win. Turkish air strikes, led by the US coalition, Iraqi soldier killed while pushing back ISIS troops. 9 villages have been liberated, troops are ahead of schedule for stoping the radical group. Mosul has been a stronghold for the terror group, they are not willing to loose this territory. This is alarming because peoples lives are being put into danger, fleeing is high and death tolls can only rise in this battle. While it is not correct to declare war on the terror group, we are in the midst of the early stages of war.

clown crazy

In current news there has been a clown craze throughout the States, many clown sitings have been noticed from cities to college campuses all the way to rural areas. Starting merely a month before Halloween is this just a scare tactic or is this a real problem that needs solving. Many have expressed complaints of being "lured" by clowns to wooded areas or being chased by the hidden faces. The clowns showing in many different areas of the country are a snowball effect, people are going to do whatever they can to scare those around them now that they know attention has formed. This is also a huge viral marketing, more videos of clown sightings are being watched daily thus causing views and social media crazies feed to sky rocket. 2014 Slenderman killed someone and the defense was that he was involved in a "Augmented reality game" this creates a theory that someone could mentally be in a video game while luring around your town dressed as a clown. There are many theories as to why clowns are creating a craze but I advise that it's no longer a joke. Whether it is a snow ball effect or an ARG, clowns cause people to have fears and anxiety and this needs to stop. Why should you trust that your children will be safe on Halloween or that nothing extremely bad will come from this. It will come to end once someone is severely hurt by one of these menacing clowns.

Presidential Election

This years presidential election is a joke. The 2016 candidates are turning the election into a reality contest rather than a political campaign. The latest controversial statements put out are over the health records of each candidate, Who really cares? So, Hillary Clinton has walking pneumonia, this is a virus that is passed from person to person all the time. Apparently Donald Trump is the "healthiest man alive". Why are the American people dealing with this from the two people who should be the most politically correct. Looking at this election it is more similar to an episode of keeping up with the Kardashians rather than a real election. Hopes for the future are not so high either, these candidates started a new political wave and we can only pray things get better.
